We are already into the second week of April and those warmer months are fast approaching. If you are tired of feeling sluggish and antsy to shed some of those extra pounds in time for tank top season, then stick around, because today I am telling you how you can slim down in 6 weeks.
Today I am covering everything you need to slim down in the next 6-weeks:
- Get ya mind right.
- Nutrition.
- Exercise.
- Hydration.
- State of being.
The month of April is special to me for a few reasons. One of those reasons being that it is the anniversary of when I started on my current health and healing journey seven years ago. While I embarked on that to lose weight, it ultimately set me on my path to shifting my mindset, learning how to take control of my state of being, and led me to my inner healing, through which I got to the root of the things that were keeping me in the start-stop cycle of insanity. The start-stop cycle of insanity is the repeating cycle where we start with a weight loss plan, because we think it’s the answer. We start on the plan. We do good for a bit and then life happens, or we stop seeing progress and feel defeated, give up, quit only to decide to start again later with a new shiny different program. Rinse. Repeat.
After investing tens of thousands of dollars into my own health, healing, and training, I have gotten to the root of why this happens. One of the main culprits is that focusing on weight loss alone is short-sided and only addresses the end-results or symptoms of the underlying issues. The vast majority of programs out there completely ignore the mental aspect of losing weight and even more neglect the spiritual or innermost aspects. This is why I do what I do, to help fill that gap.
In celebration of 7 years on my current journey, I have created an incredible 6-week program that, yes will help you slim down for spring, but it also incorporates some of these other components so many other programs are missing.
You aren’t just going to be looking better this spring, you are going to be feeling better. This is a group coaching, virtual program. It is insane value for the price, worth well over $1,500, but I’m offering it at $297 for a limited time. You are going to get 6 weeks of group coaching calls with me, 6 weeks of workouts, my intuitive nutrition plan, access to me for questions and guidance through the program, access to a private Facebook group, and numerous bonuses, including recipes, meditations, my clarify, commit, crush it bundle, and many more that I am still creating.
Seriously friends, you don’t want to miss out on this. You are going to look and feel better than ever after this 6-week slim down program. So, click here and enroll today. I am kicking this off on Monday, April 15. However, you want to get in sooner than later so you can get a jump on the mindset materials and content and set yourself up for success. I have limited capacity for this, so get enrolled now, before spots are gone. Alright, now let’s get into what you can do if you are going solo on this this year, to slim down in time for those warmer months.
- Get ya mind right.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, if you don’t get your head in the game first you are less likely to succeed long-term. So, what does this look like? First, get clear on your intentions and your goals. Set a clear, specific, realistic goal for yourself for the next 6 weeks. Write it in present tense, keep it visible, read it often.
Second, get clear on your why. Go deeper than looking good in that maxi dress. What are you ready to be done with. What are you fed up with? This is your clue to what you want to change and why this is important.
Third, COMMIT. I can’t emphasize this enough! Commit to yourself that you are going to complete at least the next 6 weeks of working out, eating healthy. Write a commitment statement that incorporates you why into it and read it daily. Nobody can do this but you and you can’t reach your goals by continuing to put them off. - Nutrition
I am not going to discuss this in detail, because I have done several posts that go in depth on these, which I encourage you to check out if you want more information. I have two preferred approaches to eating for purposes of transforming my body (aka weight loss). First is an intuitive eating approach, eating a diet of whole, fresh foods. In this approach you stick to certain foods and the gist is to avoid highly processed foods and “junk.”
Second is macro tracking. I have a whole episode on this approach alone. It is a great approach because there is really nothing that is “off limits” as long as it fits your target daily macros. Outside of these two, there are lots of others, however, I personally don’t really recommend any other approaches as I’ve done them all and these two are the most sustainable, and are ideal ways to fuel your body and improve health. - Exercise
Similar to nutrition, I have many episodes focused on exercise, so I am not going in depth on this today. Three basics I follow and recommend: 1, include strength training, 2, include cardio (combination of steady-state and interval training), and 3, include stretching, recovery, and flexibility. A thread that crosses all these is to find what you like and can sustain, particularly for the cardio. Bonus tip: listen to self-help or self-improvement books or podcasts during your workouts. Feed your head while you work your body. - Hydration
Start replacing other drinks with water. Aim for a minimum of 100 ounces of water a day. Many of the challenges we face losing weight can be traced back to not being hydrated enough. We mistake thirst for hunger and overeat. Water also helps the body flush toxins as well as body fat. Water is your friend when it comes to not just weight loss but also health. Related note, alcohol is not your friend when trying to lose weight, so consider cutting it out for the next 6 weeks to boost your results. - State of being
This comes from your outlook, which comes from the internal dialogue and dominant thought paradigm. So, how you can you start feeling better. Well, if you really want substantial shifts, check out my episode called 7 steps for healing emotional triggers. Otherwise, it starts with how you speak to you. Start paying attention to what you’re thinking/saying when you look in the mirror. Replace that with affirmations. Choose about 3 affirmations to repeat to yourself daily for the next 6 weeks.
Second, start speaking life to those around you, be it at home, online, or at work. Give others genuine compliments. Cheer others on in their endeavors. Speak only positive things to and about others. You will be amazed at how this also shifts how you feel.
Third, incorporate stress management techniques, such as meditation, yoga, gratitude. Take up a hobby you enjoy and find other ways to keep your mind busy and engaged on something positive to keep you from stressing about things like work, and your other responsibilities.
So, there you have it. This is a great way to not only slim down for spring, but also improve your mindset, reduce stress, and feel your best.
